Hidden gems and homemade jams
The beautiful grounds and our spacious family suite allowed for relaxation after day trips to nearby attractions. Tim and Helen's warm hospitality, and the breakfasts, especially the homemade jams, were delicious.
Finding the hotel took a bit of effort, especially in the dark due to limited signage. An illuminated sign would definitely help future guests find their way more easily.

The room we booked was luxurious and good-sized with tv. The staff helped us with directions. The hotel's location was absolutely perfect and excellent, right by the local pub, garden and many attractions, such as Stonehenge, Bath, and Salisbury👌

I enjoyed a comfortable stay with a lovely breakfast made to order, with a great selection. The noise from the nearby main road was noticeable, which took away from the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. Better signage would certainly help first-time visitors find the hotel more easily.

Lovely b&b, with welcoming hosts, nice clean and comfortable rooms. We were on our way down to Cornwall and wanted to break the trip and visit Stonehenge. Lyn and Colin were that perfect mix of welcoming and chatty, but left you to yourselves as well. They gave us a great recommendation for a lovely pub meal in the village and lots of helpful hints for places to see on our trip down south. Would definitely recommend and well located for Stonehenge plus lots of day trips around Wiltshire.

Very welcoming and helpful, beautifully decorated comfortable rooms, convenient for Stonehengs, Longleat, Stourhead and other places of interest and a good recommendation from the owners for dinner at a local inn. Although close to the A303, the soundproofing was such that we were unaware of the traffic. Altogether a very pleasant overnight stay and we would have been happy to stay longer.

Our stay at the Old Rectory Chicklade, was everything we hoped it would be, and more! Lynda and Colin were so welcoming, and spent time going through maps and making suggestions of places to visit which fell in with our interests. I have never slept so well in a bed away from home, and although we were only there for a short while, linen was changed after our second night. Breakfast was a feast to look forward to, and really set us up for the day. We will definately return if we stay in that area again.

The breakfast is a real treat-made to order with a variety you won't get bored of. Homemade jams that are a sweet bonus. The family suite is spacious with comfy furniture.
Signage here is less than stellar. It took some navigating in the dark to find the place, and a visible light on the sign would help newcomers . The noise from the nearby A303 is noticeable, even with the double-glazing, which can detract from the otherwise serene setting. There were some reports of slow drainage in the showers that might raise a few eyebrows.

Made to feel extremely welcome. Room was new and very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Would certainly stay again, probably for 2 nights next time to go to Stourhead National Trust, Longleat and Stonehenge.
